🎯 Role Overview
As a Software Engineer III at Walmart, you will be responsible for coding, unit testing, and building high-performance, scalable applications that cater to the needs of millions of customers across supply chain management and customer experience. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing Walmart’s international operations. The role demands strong technical expertise in backend engineering, distributed systems, and cloud computing (especially GCP).
🚀 Key Responsibilities
🔧 Application Development & Engineering:
- Develop and maintain high-performance applications for supply chain management and customer experience on a global scale.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy large-scale applications using modern technologies like Java, Airflow, GCP, and Kafka.
- Focus on writing efficient, reusable code and conduct unit testing to ensure robust, scalable solutions.
🌐 Technology & Domain Expertise:
- Utilize your experience in distributed systems, cloud computing (GCP), and containerization technologies to build scalable solutions that meet business needs.
- Stay updated with emerging backend technologies and develop expertise in multithreading, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
🔄 CI/CD & Microservices:
- Work with CI/CD tools and ensure seamless integration of applications across the pipeline.
- Implement microservice architectures to enhance application performance and scalability.
📊 Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge of best practices in backend development, helping elevate the team’s technical capabilities.
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure that the software meets business requirements and scales effectively.
🎓 Qualifications
🔑 Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in backend engineering, working with Java, Kafka, Cassandra, and distributed systems.
- 2 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficiency in microservices architecture, containerization technologies, and CI/CD practices.
🌟 Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Security+, Network+, GSEC, CISSP, or CCSP.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience with Spark, Airflow, and building large-scale systems.
