Internship Overview: Early-in-Career Program

About the Team: Database Developer Relations (DB DevRel)

This includes writing blog posts, creating demos, producing tutorial videos, developing apps, and presenting at tech events and conferences.

The DB DevRel team plays a pivotal role in fostering Oracle’s developer ecosystem. It sponsors virtual and in-person developer events, collaborates with universities and bootcamps, and maintains SEO-rich content on web platforms to ensure visibility and reach. Team members work closely with engineering, marketing, and community partners to promote open and inclusive engagement across the developer landscape.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Technical Writer Intern, you will:

  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other content creators to develop user-friendly documentation.
  • Research and explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language.
  • Write, edit, and review content for various platforms including blogs, tutorials, videos, and official Oracle documentation.
  • Create and maintain product use cases, FAQs, and how-to guides tailored for developers.

  • Contribute to social media and developer outreach strategies.

Minimum Qualifications (Objective Minimum Qualifications – OMQs)

  • Be completing their sophomore or junior year by summer 2025.
  • Be available for full-time internship during one of the two time periods listed above.
  • Return to their undergraduate program following the internship.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrate a passion for technology and eagerness to learn.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States in 2025.

Preferred Qualifications

Oracle is seeking candidates who are:

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Comfortable working independently and in team settings.
  • Highly detail-oriented and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Familiar with relational databases, Oracle SQL, Java, and/or modern front-end frameworks like React.
  • Capable of using version control systems (e.g., GitHub).
