Role Overview:
We are actively seeking an extraordinary Senior Data Scientist to join our Commercial Data Sciences Team at our Titusville, NJ location. This dynamic team is at the forefront of crafting and developing innovative data science solutions that have a real impact on patients and the future of healthcare. Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Data Scientist at Johnson & Johnson, you will be responsible for leading and delivering data-driven projects across a variety of areas. Your role will include:
- Data Science Leadership:
Spearheading the development and execution of AI algorithms and machine learning models that provide valuable insights for multiple business functions, including sales and marketing, commercial strategy, and more. - Omnichannel Sales & Marketing Optimization:
Applying your expertise to optimize marketing strategies across various channels, ensuring data insights are aligned with overall business goals. - Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Working closely with cross-functional teams in business, technology, and commercial areas to understand complex problems and develop innovative solutions. - Algorithm Development:
Creating and fine-tuning algorithms for predictive modeling and decision-making processes across healthcare and business analytics. - Communication & Reporting:
Translating complex machine learning and AI methodologies into actionable business insights and effectively communicating results to diverse audiences. - End-to-End Project Delivery:
Managing data science projects from inception through to deployment, including post-launch evaluation and ongoing improvements. - Mentorship & Collaboration:
Leading collaborative initiatives within the team, sharing knowledge, and mentoring junior team members.
Qualifications & Requirements:
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Educational Background:
- Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience, or M.S. with 5+ years, or B.S. with 7+ years of relevant pharmaceutical experience.
- Degree in Computer Sciences, Statistics, Machine Learning & AI, Physics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.

Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in machine learning and AI, including techniques like regression, decision trees, clustering, neural networks, and Bayesian models.
- Expertise in data science project delivery using AI technologies, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
- Familiarity with working with large healthcare datasets and knowledge of data analysis workflows.

Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in Python or R programming languages.
- Experience with SQL and cloud-based technology stacks.
- Familiarity with machine learning platforms and environments.

Key Skills:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Proven ability to work with business partners to translate their needs into data science solutions.
- Experience in vendor management, ensuring timely delivery of projects in collaboration with external partners.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the commercial pharmaceutical business, especially in Medical/Scientific Affairs, Evidence Generation, and Unmet Need Identification.
- Knowledge of digital media and direct-to-consumer marketing strategies.
- Familiarity with commercially available healthcare datasets.
- Experience with PySpark and usage of Generative AI for productivity improvement.
