Job Description

Tech Mahindra is looking for an experienced SAP FICO Fund Tester who will play a pivotal role in managing, testing, and improving SAP Funds Management and Grants Management solutions, primarily for the public sector. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in SAP S4 HANA conversion (from ECC to S4 HANA) and should have experience managing complex and large grants, working with public sector clients.

Roles and Responsibilities

As an SAP FICO Fund Tester at Tech Mahindra, your role will involve the following responsibilities:

  1. Lead Testing for SAP FICO and Fund Management: You will be responsible for leading the testing of SAP Funds Management processes, ensuring the accuracy and functionality of the systems and supporting modules. This involves extensive analysis, planning, and execution of testing activities.
  2. S4 HANA Conversion: You will contribute to at least two major S4 HANA conversion projects, focusing on transitioning from ECC to S4 HANA. The role requires understanding the nuances of this conversion and implementing the necessary modifications to ensure smooth operations post-migration.
  3. Grant Management for Public Sector Clients: The primary focus of this role is on managing grants for public sector clients. You will oversee the management of large grants, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and optimizing fund utilization.
  4. Expense Control and Budget Control System (BCS): In this role, you will be responsible for handling expense control and BCS, ensuring that the financial transactions related to grants are well-managed and documented. You will ensure that expenses are properly controlled and reported, contributing to the overall financial stability of the organization.
  5. Business Process Improvement: You will work closely with clients and internal teams to identify and recommend process improvements. Using your deep understanding of business processes, you will advise on the implementation of more efficient workflows and systems, improving the overall business process management.
  6. Collaborative Approach: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless implementation of SAP solutions. Working alongside business analysts, consultants, and development teams, you will contribute to the overall success of the project by ensuring that testing processes align with business requirements.
  7. Client-Facing Role: This role will require you to regularly interact with clients to understand their needs, present solutions, and ensure that their expectations are met. You will act as the primary point of contact for any issues related to grants management or SAP FICO testing.
  8. System Knowledge: You will be responsible for managing Universal Journal entries and understanding other related tables in the S4 HANA system. This knowledge is crucial for ensuring that the system’s functionality aligns with business needs and regulatory compliance.
  9. Quality Assurance: The role also includes performing rigorous quality assurance testing to ensure the SAP solution is functioning as expected and delivering high-quality outputs. You will need to ensure that all deliverables meet the agreed-upon specifications and standards.
  10. Support and Troubleshooting: As part of your role, you will offer ongoing support, troubleshooting issues related to SAP FICO systems, and ensuring the system is up and running effectively. You will need to address any discrepancies and work with teams to resolve any issues that arise.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP Funds Management and Grants Management within the public sector. You should have a proven track record of working on SAP FICO testing and project management.
  • Technical Expertise: Expertise in SAP S4 HANA, SAP FICO, and grants management processes. You should also be familiar with the Universal Journal in S4 HANA, tables, and integration points between different SAP modules.
  • Client-Facing Experience: The ideal candidate should have experience working directly with clients, understanding their business requirements, and offering solutions. You should be able to manage and foster strong client relationships, providing proactive support and guidance.
  • Business Process Knowledge: A strong understanding of business processes in the public sector, particularly related to grants management, financial reporting, and expense control. Knowledge of BCS and its integration with SAP is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. You should be able to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The candidate must be a proactive problem-solver, able to analyze complex issues and find appropriate solutions quickly and efficiently.
  • Shift Requirements: Candidates should be willing to work in US shifts (2 PM to 11 PM IST). This may require some adjustment for candidates located in India.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any discipline (15 years of regular education required).
  • Postgraduate Qualifications: While not mandatory, a postgraduate qualification is preferred. It can give candidates an edge, especially in roles involving higher-level business analysis and consulting.
