Job Description:

As an Accounts Executive, you will be an integral part of the Finance and Accounting team, responsible for ensuring the financial operations of the hotel run smoothly. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a global leader in the hospitality industry and gain valuable experience in financial management. Your role will be crucial in maintaining Marriott’s reputation for operational excellence and financial accuracy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Accurate Financial Data Management:

    One of your key responsibilities will be to ensure that all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. This will involve checking figures, postings, and documents to verify their correctness. You will organize, secure, and maintain all files and records in accordance with Marriott’s policies and procedures. This includes managing cash and cash equivalents, ensuring all records are handled properly to avoid discrepancies or errors.

  2. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    You will be required to prepare, maintain, and audit a variety of financial reports, including statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, and payroll reports. Your ability to analyze and present financial data in an accurate and timely manner will be crucial for the smooth operation of the accounting department. As part of your duties, you will also be responsible for preparing, reviewing, reconciling, and issuing bills, invoices, and account statements according to Marriott’s procedures.

  3. Period-End Closing Procedures:

    A significant part of your role will be completing period-end closing procedures. These procedures are essential to ensure the accuracy and integrity of Marriott’s financial records. You will be responsible for ensuring that all financial statements are prepared according to Marriott’s internal guidelines and relevant accounting standards. Your attention to detail will ensure that reports are complete, accurate, and timely.

  4. Vendor Management:

    As an Accounts Executive, you will follow up on past-due accounts and vendor invoices. Ensuring that payments are received promptly is a critical aspect of this role. You will also work closely with vendors to resolve any issues related to overdue payments or discrepancies. Managing these relationships professionally and efficiently will help Marriott maintain strong partnerships with its suppliers and service providers.

  5. Team Coordination and Mentoring:

    In this role, you will also coordinate with other departments within Marriott to ensure that tasks are completed on time and meet the highest quality standards. As a departmental role model, you will assist in mentoring junior associates, providing guidance, and ensuring they adhere to Marriott’s policies and procedures. Your ability to foster a collaborative work environment and support your colleagues will contribute to the overall success of the team.

  6. Adherence to Policies and Procedures:

    You will ensure that Marriott’s financial policies and procedures are followed strictly. This includes ensuring the confidentiality of proprietary information and maintaining the security of financial records. Additionally, you will be responsible for protecting Marriott’s assets and upholding the integrity of the company’s financial reporting.

  7. Safety and Security Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

To be successful in the Accounts Executive position,  company seeks candidates with the following qualifications:

  1. Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent: This position requires at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent. A higher level of education, such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, is preferred but not mandatory.   1. Work Experience:

  • 1+ Years of Related Work Experience: At least one year of related work experience in accounting or a similar financial role is required. This experience will provide you with the necessary skills to manage financial records, process invoices, and assist in financial reporting effectively. Experience in the hospitality industry or a similar environment is a plus, as it would provide familiarity with the industry-specific financial operations.
  1. Supervisory Experience:

  • This position does not require supervisory experience. However, candidates with leadership qualities or a desire to take on mentoring responsibilities will be well-suited for the role. Marriott values individuals who are self-starters and take initiative to lead by example.
  1. Key Skills and Competencies:
