🎯 Role Overview: Employee Relations Specialist

As an Employee Relations (ER) Specialist, you will be at the forefront of maintaining a positive and compliant workplace environment. This role requires a blend of analytical thinking, emotional intelligence, and thorough understanding of labor laws.

You’ll manage complex employee grievances, lead internal investigations, resolve disputes, and ensure legal compliance – all while collaborating with HR business partners across service lines.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

As an Employee Relations Specialist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

🧾 1. Case Management & Resolution

  • Take ownership of ER cases from initiation to closure.
  • Provide expert guidance on policy interpretation and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure fairness, consistency, and legal compliance in all decisions.

🕵️‍♀️ 2. Investigations

  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and allegations of misconduct.
  • Interview employees, gather documentation, and synthesize findings into formal reports.

📝 3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed and confidential records of all ER matters.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and objective investigation summaries and recommendations.

🏛 4. Legal Compliance & Policy Development

  • Keep abreast of evolving labor laws, employment legislation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the development and revision of ER policies, ensuring alignment with legal standards and organizational goals.

🧩 5. Conflict Resolution & Coaching

  • Mediate disputes between employees and/or management.
  • Provide coaching and conflict management support to leaders and team members.

🤝 6. Strategic HR Collaboration

  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and leadership on employee engagement, retention, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to cross-functional HR projects and initiatives.

👤 Preferred Candidate Profile

This role is ideal for professionals who possess:

🎓 Educational Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree (MBA, MA in HR or related field preferred).

💼 Professional Experience

  • 4 to 8 years of proven experience in employee relations, labor law compliance, or HR generalist functions within a corporate setting.

  • Strong Investigation Skills: Skilled in gathering facts and conducting interviews.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret data and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Exceptional Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
