📌 Job Description – AVP (Accounts Payable)
💡 As AVP – Accounts Payable at EXL, you will lead and oversee shared finance services, drive process improvements, manage a high-performing team, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
✅ Accounts Payable & Employee Claims Management
- Oversee end-to-end Global Accounts Payable (AP/I2P) and Employee Claim Reimbursement (T&E) functions.
- Ensure smooth month-end and year-end closure processes.
- Maintain compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
✅ Strategic Leadership & Process Optimization
- Define and execute long-term strategy for financial operations.
- Drive process automation and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial processes with business goals.
✅ Performance Management & Team Development
- Lead a high-performing team of finance professionals.
- Implement training programs and career development initiatives.
- Monitor team performance, SLAs, and KPIs.
✅ Stakeholder Management & Compliance
- Act as a primary contact for internal (HR, Tech, Business) & external stakeholders (Auditors, Service Providers).
- Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
✅ Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and optimize operations.
- Prepare reports for senior management and external audits.
🛠 Skills & Qualifications Required
To succeed in this role, you should have:
✅ 12+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Shared Services (with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role).
✅ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field (MBA / CA / CWA / CFA preferred).
✅ Expert knowledge of Oracle R12 / Fusion (Mandatory).
✅ Strong understanding of P2P, Financial Reporting, and Regulatory Compliance.
✅ Experience managing large-scale finance operations across multiple geographies.
✅ Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel & PowerPoint.
