The Role: Data Analyst
Barclays is looking for a skilled and dynamic Data Analyst to join our Data Science & Analytics department. In this critical role, you will spearhead the evolution of Barclays’ digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence by harnessing cutting-edge technology to ensure exceptional customer experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating data insights, developing dashboards, and automating processes to support decision-making across the organization.

Data Insights & Dashboard Development
Utilizing your proficiency in data visualization tools, you will work closely with stakeholders to generate meaningful insights from large, diverse datasets. You will create and develop dashboards and visual reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, and Alteryx. These reports will be key in supporting the strategic decision-making process, enabling managers and teams to make data-driven decisions. Your ability to visualize complex data in a clear, concise manner will be crucial in enabling stakeholders to fully comprehend insights and take action based on data.
Automation & Workflow Optimization
In your role, you will also focus on automating processes to enhance efficiency. You will leverage your strong automation skills using tools such as VBA, Power Query, PowerApps, and others to streamline workflows and ensure operational efficiency. Automating repetitive tasks will help save time and allow teams to focus on high-impact activities, ultimately increasing productivity.
Stakeholder Engagement & Problem-Solving
One of the most important aspects of this role will be your interaction with business stakeholders. You will engage with various departments and teams within Barclays to understand their needs, translate these into actionable insights, and identify opportunities for process optimization. User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
A key responsibility of this role is conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to verify that the data solutions you develop meet business expectations. You will ensure that data tools, dashboards, and automation processes are functioning correctly before they are deployed in the production environment. UAT will involve working closely with business users to test and validate solutions, identifying any issues and resolving them before implementation.
Data Management & Governance
In addition to analysis and reporting, you will be expected to have a solid understanding of data management and data governance principles. You will ensure that the data used for analysis is accurate, reliable, and well-governed. This includes applying best practices in data handling and ensuring that data privacy and security standards are adhered to. You will also contribute to the implementation of data governance frameworks to support regulatory compliance and data quality.
