VP Billing & Custody Manager – Hybrid

About the Role

Citi is seeking a VP Billing & Custody Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of billing within the Custody Services business. This role requires strategic leadership, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration to drive process improvements, ensure compliance, and maintain high service standards for institutional clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. This role is client-facing and requires exceptional communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the individual will supervise a team, cover for other managers when necessary, and contribute to ongoing business improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Billing Oversight

  • Oversee invoice production and ensure accurate and timely delivery.
  • Manage and enhance billing processes while ensuring adherence to audit policies and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with industry regulations and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflow efficiency and identify process enhancements.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly.

Strategic Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Lead process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct internal controls and compliance testing, ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Identify potential gaps in existing processes and implement solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for billing functions.

Team Supervision & Leadership

  • Manage a team of professionals, providing mentorship, coaching, and guidance.
  • Oversee staffing and workflow distribution, ensuring the team meets service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Lead cross-training initiatives to enhance team capabilities and ensure business continuity.
  • Act as a backup for other managers as needed, ensuring seamless operations.

Client Engagement & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for billing-related client inquiries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, ensuring a high standard of service.
  • Prepare and present reports on billing trends, financial performance, and operational insights.
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve complex billing issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in the Securities industry, Financial Services, or equivalent role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and data analysis tools.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service in a client-facing role.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience in investigation, reconciliation, and financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within Custody Services.
  • Knowledge of best practices in Billing and Operations.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and process streamlining technologies.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $103,920.00 – $155,880.00
