🧭 Role Overview
As Director – Investment Banker, you’ll serve as a strategic advisor to clients in the non-bank financial services industry, helping them raise capital, navigate mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and optimize corporate finance strategy.
You’ll be responsible for executing high-profile deals, developing client relationships, anticipating market shifts, and guiding junior talent to enhance Citi’s long-term performance and client satisfaction.

🚀 Strategic Client Advisory
- Partner with clients to raise funds via capital markets (debt & equity) and structure innovative deal strategies.
- Deliver tailored investment banking solutions backed by in-depth market insights and financial acumen.
- Advise on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and cross-border transactions.
🧩 Transaction Execution
- Lead full lifecycle deal execution from origination to closing.
- Structure complex financial transactions with a sharp focus on risk-return profiles and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain high-quality delivery standards in fast-paced deal environments.
🤝 Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with senior executives in diversified financial institutions.
- Provide ongoing market trend insights, risk analysis, and strategic guidance.
- Maintain a proactive pipeline of episodic and recurring client opportunities.
👥 Leadership and Mentoring
- Serve as a role model and mentor for analysts and associates within the investment banking team.

🎓 Qualifications & Skills
✅ Required
- 15+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or related fields.
- Prior experience working at leading investment banking institutions.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
- FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses.
- Proven track record in structuring and closing M&A and capital markets deals.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.

- MBA or Master’s degree in Finance or related discipline.
- Expertise in financial services, fintech, insurance, or asset management sectors.
- Deep understanding of U.S. and global regulatory environments.

$200,000 – $300,000 base salary (based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity)
