🎓 Position Summary
As a Principal Cybersecurity – Network Security Engineer, you will:
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for multiple high-impact security environments
- Lead network security projects and firewall implementations
- Troubleshoot complex TCP/IP issues and perform deep-dive forensic analysis
- Train and mentor operations teams while serving as a tier-4 escalation resource
- Engage with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless cybersecurity protocols

📊 Strategic Initiatives
- Oversee mission-critical projects and migrations with a strong security-first mindset
- Drive operational excellence and innovation in security system design
- Lead the development and refinement of best practices for perimeter security technologies
⚖️ Technical Operations
- Serve as the final escalation point (Tier 4) for complex network and security incidents
- Design, configure, and manage firewalls using Juniper, Palo Alto, or Fortinet
- Implement next-gen firewall policies, reporting mechanisms, and system upgrades
- Ensure secure infrastructure through performance testing, version control, and disaster recovery planning
🔧 Platform & Systems Management
- Manage Linux-based systems, virtual machines, and containers
- Apply advanced knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP protocols, and cybersecurity frameworks
- Monitor and analyze system logs, event data, and audit trails for threats
✍️ Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer
- Guide operational teams through best practices, security policies, and auditing requirements
- Provide specialized training sessions and documentation for junior engineers
- Coordinate with leadership to align cybersecurity goals with business needs
💼 Qualifications
🎓 Educational Background
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Equivalency: Proven experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
⏳ Experience Requirements
- 8 to 10 years of advanced hands-on experience in network security and firewall management
- Expertise in firewall design, configuration, performance optimization, and troubleshooting
- In-depth experience with network protocols, cloud services, content management, data centers, and virtualization technologies
