🎯 About the Role: LOA Case Manager
As a Leave of Absence (LOA) Case Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for Amazon employees throughout their leave of absence or disability period. This is an individual contributor (IC) role requiring high levels of professionalism, empathy, and problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for overseeing case management services, adjudicating leave cases, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
✔ Employee Support & Case Management
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned employees regarding leave and disability cases.
- Provide holistic case management services, including reviewing medical documentation and ensuring compliance with Amazon’s leave policies.
- Address employee inquiries, ensuring they understand their options and benefits.
- Educate employees about leave processes and ensure a seamless return-to-work transition.
✔ Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal and state leave laws, including ADA/ADAAA and FMLA.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within Amazon’s case management system.
- Stay updated on evolving labor laws and Amazon policies to ensure compliance.
✔ Collaboration & Problem-Solving
- Work closely with HR, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Safety teams to resolve leave-related concerns.
- Troubleshoot complex employee issues related to leave and accommodations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance case management efficiency.
✔ Communication & Employee Engagement
- Maintain regular updates with employees, managers, and stakeholders via calls, emails, and reports.
- Offer guidance and education on leave policies, employee rights, and available resources.
- Assist in reducing employee stress by ensuring a smooth and transparent leave process.
📌 Basic Qualifications
🔹 Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or a related field OR High school diploma with equivalent experience.
🔹 Work Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in customer service, HR, case management, or leave & disability management roles.
🔹 Technical Skills:
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience using case management systems.
🔹 Key Abilities:
- Strong time management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

✅ Leave & Disability Knowledge:
- Understanding of FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, and other US leave policies.
- Previous experience managing leave of absence and disability claims.

✅ Communication & People Skills:
- Proven ability to educate and guide employees through leave-related concerns.
✅ Experience in High-Volume Environments:
