About Manufacturing Design Team:
The Manufacturing Designing team at Apple is responsible for designing and developing backend applications, technical work and systems that enable the team to do mass production of Apple’s products to deliver to the required people. Role Overview: Backend Software Engineer – Apple TV CatLog
Company is looking for a talented Backend Software Engineer to join Apple’s Manufacturing Design team in Bengaluru location. This role involves designing, developing, building, and optimizing backend systems that enable effective, efficient, reliable, and scalable manufacturing processes in the company. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, end-users, clients, team-members and global teams to translate complex manufacturing requirements into robust backend solutions of the process.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing backend services primarily using Go and SQL techniques, optimizing database performance, ensuring high availability and scalability, and maintaining code quality high through rigorous testing and documentation of system files. You will work on large-scale datasets in this process, analyse system performance, and implement solutions to keep Apple’s manufacturing operations running smoothly and efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development & Maintenance in process
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend newly applications and services supporting Apple’s manufacturing processes in the company.
- Write clean, efficient, effective, easy, maintainable, and well-documented code primarily using Go and SQL techniques.
- Ensure the backend codebase is covered by automated tests systems and adhere to best practices for code quality, reliability and maintainability.
Database Management & Optimization of systems
- Work extensively with PostgreSQL and other relational databases systems, optimizing queries in code and schema for performance on datasets with billions of records.
- Plan and execute zero-downtime database schema migrations, ensuring data integrity in foremost and system availability to refine it.
- Refactor the databases and data pipelines to improve its scalability and reduce its latency.
Performance Analysis & System Optimization
- Perform load testing, stress testing, and performance tuning of backend services to identify bottlenecks and improve system reliability in this team.
- Use observability tools who in experience like Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, and Wireshark to monitor system health and debug production issues effectively and efficiently.
- Continuously identify, evaluate and implement performance improvements to support growing manufacturing workloads in the team.
Collaboration & Communication with teams
- Work closely with product managers, team leaders, global stakeholders, and end-users to gather requirements of the products and deliver backend solutions aligned with business goals to the higher authority.
- Participate actively in code reviews of the applications, providing constructive feedback to the team and mentoring junior developers by seniors.
- Document backend systems, APIs, and processes thoroughly for internal knowledge sharing within the team.
Data Analysis & Visualization of work
- Use data visualization tools who have knowledge such as Jupiter, Tableau, and Graph viz to analyse manufacturing data and support decision-making process.
- Conduct the quantitative and qualitative analysis to support feature design, process improvements, and troubleshooting process.
Process Improvement & Innovation in process
- Identify different opportunities for process automation and system enhancements to streamline manufacturing workflows.
- Lead or contribute to the small to medium special projects aimed at improving manufacturing software capabilities in the system.
Required Skills and Qualifications in Apple
Technical Skills
- 3+ years of experience in backend software engineering with a strong knowledge on Go and PostgreSQL techniques.
- Deep understanding of backend web development fundamentals and process including different skills HTTP protocols, RESTful API design, Git version control, and SQL database management.
- Proven experience in writing high-quality code, maintainable with easy-to-understand code with automated testing, continuous integration, and code review workflows.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, query optimization, schema design, and data migration strategies for more intellectual bases.
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields from a highly reputed institution in this whole world.
