🌐 Position Summary: Trade Events & Program Specialist

Are you passionate about creating dynamic event experiences and seamless program management? Carnival Cruise Line is seeking a Trade Events & Program Specialist to lead strategy, planning, execution, and follow-up for a wide range of travel agent events and programs.

As a key member of our Global Sales and Trade Marketing team, you’ll oversee 50+ engaging trade-focused events annually, including roadshows, webinars, ship inaugurals, promotional contests, and more. Your work will drive brand experience, partner education, and travel agent engagement.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

🧠 Program Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement end-to-end strategies for assigned programs/events.
  • Define participation criteria, rollout timelines, branding elements, and communication strategies.
  • Align with senior stakeholders to ensure each event meets business objectives.

🗂️ Program Management

  • Own comprehensive project plans for multiple concurrent events.
  • Lead planning for food & beverage, transportation, giveaways, promotional content, and collateral.
  • Coordinate event agendas, guest speakers, and logistics from ideation to post-event wrap-up.

🤝 Vendor & Shipboard Negotiation

  • Negotiate with hotels, A/V providers, caterers, and shipboard teams.
  • Lead contracting and vendor relationships, ensuring top-tier execution within budget.
  • Collaborate with the Director to finalize contracts and terms.

🧾 Budget & Financial Management

  • Create and manage event-specific budgets; approve and optimize spend.
  • Track and report all costs, ensuring high ROI and accountability.

🎤 Presentation Development

  • Develop and customize training and trade event presentations.
  • Work with senior leadership and subject matter experts to produce compelling, brand-aligned content.

📢 Communication Management

  • Manage full cycle of event communications—from invitation to post-event feedback.
  • Maintain RSVP databases and coordinate with external/internal stakeholders.

🎯 Onsite Execution & Leadership

  • Oversee onsite logistics and vendor teams during events.
  • Ensure event runs smoothly and aligns with brand expectations.

🧑‍🎓 Qualifications & Experience

✅ Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or Hospitality
    (Associate’s Degree accepted with significant relevant experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in event planning or program management
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel)

✅ Preferred:

  • Experience in the travel, tourism, or cruise industry
  • Familiarity with virtual/hybrid event platforms
  • Background in sales or trade marketing is a strong plus

🌎 Work Location & Schedule
