The Role: IBM MDM Specialist
Capgemini is seeking an experienced IBM MDM (Master Data Management) Specialist to join our dynamic and growing team. Key Responsibilities:
As an IBM MDM Specialist, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
- IBM MDM Solutions Development:
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining IBM Infosphere MDM solutions that manage large volumes of data, ensuring high levels of data accuracy and integrity. This will involve configuring and deploying MDM platforms to integrate disparate data sources and create a unified data model that meets business needs. - Collaboration on MDM Strategies:
You will work with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data architects, and application developers, to design and implement MDM strategies. These strategies will ensure that master data is managed efficiently, consistent across systems, and aligned with organizational goals. - Data Integration and Data Management:
You will manage and integrate data from various systems into the MDM solution, ensuring the consistency and accuracy of data across all enterprise platforms. You will also perform routine checks to ensure the quality of data, identifying and resolving data quality issues as needed. - Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
In this role, you will act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting issues related to the IBM MDM system. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve data issues, ensuring that any disruptions to the MDM platform are quickly addressed, and business processes continue without interruption. - Data Analysis and Quality Assurance:
You will perform regular data analysis to assess the quality and integrity of the data within the MDM system. This includes identifying data anomalies, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with the team to implement corrective actions. - Providing Technical Support:
You will offer technical support to team members and stakeholders, providing guidance on the proper usage of MDM tools and best practices. You will also assist in training team members on the use of the MDM platform to ensure smooth adoption and effective data management processes. - Continuous Improvement of Data Management Practices:
You will identify opportunities for continuous improvement in MDM processes. This could include automating repetitive tasks, enhancing system configurations, and implementing new tools and technologies to improve data accuracy and reduce manual intervention. - Ensuring Compliance and Best Practices:
You will ensure that all data management activities comply with industry best practices, organizational standards, and relevant regulations, including GDPR and other data privacy laws. You will maintain robust documentation of all processes, configurations, and changes to MDM systems.

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven Experience as an IBM MDM Developer:
A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience working with IBM Infosphere MDM or similar MDM platforms is essential. You should have experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining MDM systems, as well as resolving data issues within the platform. - Proficiency in Data Integration:
You should have strong experience with data integration technologies, ensuring seamless synchronization of data across various systems. Familiarity with ETL processes and tools is a key requirement for this role. - Strong Problem-Solving Skills:
You must have excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, allowing you to quickly diagnose and resolve issues related to MDM systems. You should be able to think critically, perform root cause analysis, and propose effective solutions. - Communication Skills:
As an IBM MDM Specialist, you will need strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. You should be able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide clear documentation on MDM processes. - Experience with Data Quality Assurance:
Candidates should have experience ensuring data quality, including data validation, cleaning, and integrity checks. Experience with data governance best practices is a plus. - Knowledge of Data Governance Frameworks:
A deep understanding of data governance frameworks and principles is important for maintaining data quality across multiple systems. Knowledge of best practices related to data stewardship, data modeling, and metadata management will be beneficial. - Technical Proficiency:
Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is highly preferred. Familiarity with MDM-related tools, including data integration platforms and data quality tools, will be an advantage. - Ability to Work Independently and Collaboratively:
You should be able to work independently on complex projects while also being an effective team player in collaborative environments. You will need to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure the success of MDM initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field is preferred. Professional certifications related to MDM or data management (e.g., IBM Certified Specialist) are a plus. - Experience with Cloud Platforms:
Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS or Azure, is advantageous for integrating MDM solutions with cloud-based infrastructure. - Experience with Data Governance:
Prior experience with data governance and data stewardship practices is valuable, as this will help ensure the reliability and integrity of master data within the organization.
