🎯 Role Overview: Associate Consultant – Data Steward
As an Associate Consultant – Data Steward, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and accuracy of business data. You will be entrusted with monitoring user data, maintaining data integrity, resolving duplicates, and assisting users across the organization with system and reporting support.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
As a Data Steward, your responsibilities will include the following core tasks:
🗂️ 1. Data Monitoring & Quality Assurance
- Monitor newly created records in the system to ensure data quality.
- Identify incomplete or inaccurate records and suggest user training needs.
- Regularly review and validate company, contact, and interaction records.
🔁 2. Data Cleansing & Deduplication
- Execute quarterly deduplication processes.
- Merge or reconcile duplicate records to maintain clean and unique entries.
- Identify and clean up orphaned records such as:
- Contacts without a company
- Interactions without external attendees
- Watchlist entries with missing references
🗃️ 3. Data Enrichment
- Conduct periodic data validation and enrichment by researching companies and updating supplementary information (industry, size, revenue, etc.).
- Ensure that company profiles are robust and detailed for better analytics and reporting.
📊 4. Report Generation & Data Extraction
- Generate weekly process reports that support:
- System adoption tracking
- Executive-level management information
- Assist users in creating ad-hoc reports and dashboards for insights and presentations.
🛠️ 5. System Support & Help Desk
- Support end-users with technical and process-related queries.
- Provide guidance on best practices in using the data system effectively.
- Deliver quick turnarounds on help desk tickets and queries.
🔄 6. Data Uploads & Fuzzy Matching
- Perform bulk data uploads into the central dataroom using Excel and internal tools.
- Handle fuzzy match requests using advanced Excel functions for record linkage.
🧪 7. Testing & System Enhancements
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) during system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations.
- Be a part of new feature rollouts such as the Global Data Layer expansion.
🧠 Required Skills & Competencies
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following:
✅ Must-Have Skills
- 1–3 years of professional experience in data management or data stewardship
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Fuzzy Matching, etc.)
- Ability to spot inconsistencies, duplicates, and data gaps with ease
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for user engagement
✅ Preferred Skills
- Experience with data reporting tools or ERP/CRM platforms
- Prior work in a finance or consulting firm is advantageous
- Good understanding of data governance and compliance
🎓 Educational Qualifications
- UG: B.Com / BBA / BMS in any specialization
- PG: Postgraduate (any specialization preferred but not mandatory)
