Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) is looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to lead its TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) Cash Sales Team in San Francisco. This key role focuses on growing the bank’s Transaction Banking (TB) business in the Americas, particularly with TMT clients based in San Francisco, Seattle, and Los Angeles. The candidate will play a pivotal role in client engagement, product leadership, and revenue generation. Job Summary

As the TMT Cash Sales Team Lead, your primary responsibility is to drive the TB sales business growth for the Americas region, focusing on TMT clients. You will act as a trusted advisor, offering expert solutions in cash management and trade finance, collaborating closely with the Coverage and Global Subsidiaries (GS) teams. Your leadership will span across client engagement, team management, product pitching, RFP processes, and enhancing SCB’s profile as a market leader in transaction banking.

Key Objectives:

  • Act as a trusted TB advisor for TMT clients
  • Drive cash and trade mandates across the Americas
  • Lead RFIs/RFPs, especially for global mandates
  • Manage and coach a team of four direct reports
  • Enhance SCB’s profile in the TMT banking space

Key Responsibilities – Standard Chartered

Strategic Client Engagement:

  • Develop long-term strategic and tactical plans tailored to client needs in the TMT sector.
  • Integrate the client strategy into the overall account plan in collaboration with coverage partners.
  • Create stakeholder mapping and global calling plans.
  • Align closely with GS Trade Sales teams across the SCB network.

Product and Solution Leadership:

  • Structure and pitch comprehensive solutions across trade finance, working capital, cross-border payments, and liquidity management.
  • Collaborate with the Trade Distribution and Cash SSD teams to deliver innovative treasury solutions.
  • Support commercialisation of new products tailored to the TMT sector.

RFP and Deal Execution:

  • Lead the development and submission of RFPs for TMT clients.
  • Manage full deal lifecycle—from client engagement to implementation.
  • Ensure successful revenue realization through robust execution.

Team Management:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the SFO-based TBCS team.
  • Foster a supportive, motivating, and values-driven team culture.
  • Guide team development to deliver consistent, superior client experiences.

Marketing and Branding:

  • Represent SCB at conferences, webinars, and client forums.
  • Contribute thought leadership through publications and whitepapers.
  • Build client referrals to support business expansion.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities – Standard Chartered

Financial Management:

  • Own the TB Profit & Loss (P&L) for assigned TMT clients.
  • Achieve and exceed financial KPIs—pipeline targets, client engagement metrics, and revenue goals.
  • Expand the wallet share through cross-selling and new business generation.

Pipeline and Revenue Growth:

  • Identify new opportunities and manage a healthy deal pipeline.
  • Drive closures through proactive origination and effective pitches.
  • Focus on return on risk-weighted assets (RoRWA) for assigned clients.

Team Oversight:

  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals with a strong focus on TMT.
  • Ensure high morale, motivation, and alignment with SCB values.

Post-Sales Execution:

  • Manage deal implementation and mandate extensions.
  • Oversee seamless client onboarding and post-implementation reviews.
  • Incorporate client feedback into future strategies.

Qualifications- Standard Chartered

To succeed in this role, candidates should bring the following:

Education and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in banking, with deep knowledge of Transaction Banking.
  • Proven track record in driving cash management and trade finance opportunities.
  • Strong exposure to the TMT sector.
  • Experience in handling RFPs, documentation, and solution structuring.

Skills and Competencies:

  • High executive presence with strong influencing and communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding of working capital cycles, liquidity, and cash conversion.
  • Robust credit analysis and documentation capabilities.
  • Ability to work across multicultural, cross-border teams.
  • Experience in managing teams and driving sales, product, or implementation projects.
