🌟 Role Overview: People Specialist (Payroll)
The People Specialist (Payroll) is a crucial member of the Global People team. This role ensures smooth and compliant payroll operations across multiple countries, supporting both internal stakeholders and external partners.
As a People Specialist at Revolut, you’ll manage everything from salary processing to audits—while collaborating closely with HR, Finance, and third-party vendors to ensure employees are always supported and paid on time.
This role reports to the Global Payroll Team and is fully remote, ideal for experienced payroll professionals based in India.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
✅ Payroll Operations
- Execute end-to-end payroll processing in compliance with local labor laws.
- Manage salary payments, tax deductions, and social security filings across multiple countries.
- Ensure timely and accurate data submission for monthly payroll cycles.
- Review payroll inputs and perform thorough data validation.
✅ Employee Support & Communication
- Serve as the go-to payroll advisor for employees with questions about deductions, tax, or payments.
- Respond promptly and professionally to queries, maintaining high employee satisfaction.
- Provide HR support around onboarding, offboarding, and statutory benefits.
✅ Stakeholder Collaboration
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, Compliance, and third-party vendors.
- Forecast payroll budgets and cash flows for salary disbursement.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including income tax and pension schemes.
✅ Compliance & Risk Mitigation
- Conduct and support regular payroll audits and reconciliations.
- Develop internal control mechanisms to reduce payroll errors and fraud.
- Create documentation, workflows, and process manuals for transparency and governance.
✅ Process Optimization
- Spearhead initiatives to streamline payroll processes.
- Implement automation wherever possible to reduce manual work and human error.
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies in global payroll operations.
🧠 What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you must be analytical, proactive, detail-oriented, and well-versed in the complexities of global payroll systems.
🏆 Mandatory Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in payroll administration or analysis.
- Experience managing multi-country payroll cycles, especially in dynamic, high-growth environments.
- Strong knowledge of local taxation, social security, pension schemes, and labor laws.
- Familiarity with payroll and HR software, including:
- ADP GlobalView
- ADP Celegro
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Experience managing external vendors and stakeholders.
💡 Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Basic understanding of Jira and SQL for ticket tracking and data handling.
- Prior experience working with new legal entities or expansions.
- Strong project management and process documentation capabilities.
