🧑💼 Role Overview: Sr Accounts Associate – Jaipur
MetLife is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Sr Accounts Associate to manage a wide range of financial functions. This critical role requires someone who is adept at reconciliations, cash account handling, journal entries, reporting, and managing complex financial data.
You’ll work within a high-performing team of finance professionals to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuous process improvements, while aligning with US Insurance industry standards.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
🔎 1. Journal Entries & Reconciliation
- Prepare, process, review, and approve manual journal entries.
- Reconcile accounts to identify variances and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and auditable records of all financial activities.
💰 2. Suspense & Cash Account Handling
- Efficiently manage reconciliation suspense accounts and cash transactions.
- Coordinate lockbox check processing and handle FCU reports.
📊 3. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
- Manage the collection of essential data from various source systems.
- Create open item reports and reconciliation statements for directors and managers.
📈 4. Month-End Closing
- Lead month-end activities, including:
- Booking of accruals
- Payment processing through wire transfers
- Ensure that all month-end closing activities align with internal policies and financial standards.
📋 5. Process Optimization & Quality Control
- Identify gaps in existing processes and propose efficiency improvements.
- Work towards process excellence with a high focus on quality control.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
🧑🤝🧑 6. Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Communicate financial data effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
🧾 Essential Qualifications
🎓 Education
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or a diploma with at least 15 years of formal education.
- Additional finance or accounting certifications are a plus.
📅 Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in:
- Business Process Offshoring (BPO)
- Financial Institutions
- Insurance industry (preferably US-based)
🧠 Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- US Insurance accounting principles
- Month-end accounting and financial close cycles
- Excellent data entry and keyboard navigation skills
- Proficiency in tools for journal entry and reconciliation
- Experience in lockbox check processing and FCU report handling
