Role Overview

As a TAS – Modeling Analyst, your primary responsibility is to develop, test, and maintain cash flow models for structured finance products such as ABS, MBS, and CDOs. You will interpret complex legal documents, perform accurate calculations for bond issuances, and ensure top-tier client service. The role demands exceptional analytical skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and strong technical proficiency.

You will work closely with the TAS Analytics group, supporting Deutsche Bank’s function as Trustee and/or Agent. The role also involves adhering to European working hours to support EMEA and Americas business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Modeling & Analysis

  • Develop and test complex cash flow models for bond structures using Excel, VBA, and SQL.
  • Validate bond payment accuracy by cross-referencing with prospectus tables and third-party data.
  • Confirm bond yield computations and resolve discrepancies in cash flow projections.
  1. Legal Documentation Interpretation

  • Read and interpret legal and issuer documents such as:
    • Offering Circulars
    • Prospectuses
    • Bond Indentures
    • Pooling and Servicing Agreements
    • Hedging Agreements
  1. Client Service & Communication

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing comprehensive deal structure explanations.
  • Support internal and external clients with detailed, data-driven insights.
  • Establish communication protocols for asset-level collateral data submissions.
  1. Data Management

  • Ensure accurate data entry and resolve issues related to asset-level collateral.
  • Define data format and guidelines for bond payment collateral receipt.
  1. Process Improvement

  • Contribute to special projects focused on automation, process efficiency, and technology integration.
  • Provide recommendations for improving existing financial models and workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering OR
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) OR Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
  • High academic GPA and a solid understanding of finance and statistics.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)
  • VBA for Excel (script automation and macros)
  • SQL (data querying and management)
  • Optional: Python, MS Access, SAS, or other data tools

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial modeling or structured finance.
  • Familiarity with securities, bonds, and the investment banking ecosystem.
