We are currently looking for a Service Specialist to join our Supply Chain and Logistics team in Kolkata.
Role Overview
The Service Specialist plays a crucial role in our Supply Chain and Logistics team by ensuring smooth transportation operations and timely deliveries while minimizing risk factors associated with delays and inefficiencies. This role involves tracking outbound shipments, coordinating with carriers, resolving logistical issues, and ensuring that Nestlé’s supply chain functions seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

On-Time Pickup Management
- Ensure timely placement of outbound deliveries according to the cut-off time agreed with the Center of Competence (CoC).
- Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for external carriers to streamline logistics operations.
- Liaise with carriers on load acceptance, scheduling, and vehicle placement.
- Monitor and assist in dock scheduling to optimize warehouse utilization.
- Ensure that first-time vehicle placement meets standard norms in terms of dimension, quality, and safety compliance.

In-Transit Tracking and Issue Resolution
- Continuously track shipments using Operational Visibility Tool (OVT) and In-Transit Visibility Tool (IVT).
- Identify and resolve issues with delayed shipments by coordinating with drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams.
- Ensure accurate real-time tracking data is maintained to provide transparency on shipment progress.
- Update Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) for delayed shipments and re-schedule appointments if required.

Financial Approvals and Billing Support
- Validate shipment completion by ensuring Proof of Delivery (PoD) is acknowledged.
- Coordinate with carriers for Freight Settlement Data (FSD) acceptance and resolve payment-related issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate bill submission by carriers for seamless payment processing.

Continuous Improvement and Compliance
- Participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) operational review meetings.
- Contribute to ongoing logistics process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide a 360-degree visibility report on open outbound deliveries to internal teams.

Customer Satisfaction and Service Adherence
- Maintain Nestlé’s high standards of customer service and delivery compliance.
- Ensure all logistics operations align with service level adherence policies.
- Work closely with the warehouse team, transport partners, and internal stakeholders to maintain efficiency and reduce disruptions.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have Skills:
✔ Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Operations & Logistics
✔ Experience in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and SAP
✔ Hands-on experience in inventory management and vehicle tracking
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
✔ Strong communication skills, particularly in Bengali and English
✔ Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze and resolve logistics bottlenecks
Preferred Qualifications:
🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
🎓 1-6 years of relevant work experience in logistics, transportation, or inventory management
🎓 Familiarity with fleet management and on-time delivery compliance
🎓 Strong data-driven approach with experience in reporting, dashboards, and KPI tracking
