Key Responsibilities

Fraud Detection & Analysis: Analyze large datasets to identify patterns of fraud and take necessary preventive measures.

Machine Learning Models: Design, implement, and deploy machine learning models for fraud detection and prevention.

Customer Collaboration: Work closely with PayPal’s large and strategic customers to consult on fraud prevention strategies and enhance risk solutions.

Product Optimization: Improve fraud detection models and risk assessment tools for optimal accuracy and efficiency.

Data-Driven Insights: Provide actionable business recommendations to executive teams using data-driven insights.

Process Improvement: Drive innovation by designing data-driven solutions and process improvements.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with engineering, risk, and product teams to develop cutting-edge fraud prevention technologies.

Reporting & Documentation: Present findings and strategies to stakeholders at various levels.

Compliance & Regulations: Stay updated with risk and compliance guidelines in fintech and digital payments.

Product Deployment: Assist engineering teams in integrating new fraud detection features into PayPal’s payment platform.

Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Mining, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Industry Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in advanced data analysis, risk & fraud investigation, or fintech.

Technical Expertise: Strong experience with Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.

Machine Learning Knowledge: Proficiency in ML concepts such as regression, classification, anomaly detection, and clustering.

Fraud Investigation Experience: Hands-on experience in fraud risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to use data-driven methodologies to make business decisions.

Database Knowledge: Understanding of database structures, Unix/Linux for data extraction and manipulation.

Process Optimization: Demonstrated ability to streamline workflows and improve processes in a data-driven environment.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work in high-pressure situations and quickly solve complex problems.

Collaboration Skills: Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Higher Education: MS/PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Fintech & eCommerce Experience: Previous experience in eCommerce, online payments, digital banking, or risk/fraud management.
Project Management: Experience managing cross-functional projects with a high level of attention to detail.
Big Data Technologies: Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
Product Development: Experience in developing AI-driven fraud prevention systems.
Communication & Leadership: Ability to present insights to executive stakeholders and influence decision-making.
