As a Project Support Engineer at Hero MotoCorp, you will play a critical role in assisting the COC Lead to manage and track project activities, ensuring timely delivery while meeting critical Cost, Time, and Quality (CTQ) targets.
Your Day at Hero MotoCorp
As a Project Support Engineer, you will be responsible for key areas in Project Management and Product Development. Here’s what your day-to-day responsibilities will look like:
✅Project Management & Product Development:
- Project Integration: Aligning company-specific processes with best industry practices in project management.
- Timeline Tracking: Monitoring departmental deliverables concerning key project milestones.
- Schedule Preparation: Creating detailed project schedules in MS Project and ensuring alignment with the broader project timeline.
- Project Facilitation: Supporting teams in overcoming challenges and ensuring smooth project execution.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Bridging gaps between departments for seamless workflow and better communication.
- Micro-Level Activity Management: Tracking smaller project tasks to align with the company’s R&D development processes, ensuring global standards are met.
- Innovation & Efficiency: Contributing fresh ideas to optimize time, cost, and quality management.
- Risk Management: Developing detailed side-effect charts for any project specification changes to mitigate risks proactively.
✅Project Dashboard & Monitoring:
- Budget and Weight Monitoring: Tracking cost/weight targets and comparing them against actual performance metrics.
- Problem Identification & Resolution: Identifying project roadblocks and ensuring their timely resolution.
- Progress Transparency: Providing detailed progress reports in weekly project meetings, monthly forecasts, and status updates.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) Review: Ensuring new model BOM aligns with the base and changed parts list.
Qualifications & Skills Required
✅Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) with a specialization in Electrical & Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
✅Technical Skills & Expertise:
- Project Management Experience: Preferably in the automotive industry.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze data and develop effective solutions.
- Ownership & Accountability: Strong sense of achievement, responsibility, and commitment to project goals.
- Planning & Organization: Expertise in project scheduling, resource management, and milestone tracking.
- Software Proficiency:
- MS Project & MS Office Suite
- Team Center Schedule Manager (Preferred)
- SAP & Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Tools
✅Behavioral Skills:
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment to achieve project success.
